SHIPCO Transport has expanded its presence in Asia with its new office in Xiamen, China, which opened on August 1 is able to provide international freight services.

Located at the International Shipping Centre, just steps away from the Customs & Excise Bureau and customs brokers, the new office is situated in the middle of the Haicang and Xingyu Terminal.

Justin Sun will lead Shipco Xiamen as general manager. "Justin comes to us with over 15 years of industry knowledge," said Herbert Lee, regional director for south China. "His experience in previous managerial positions in Fuzhou and Xiamen coupled with his Fujianese background makes him a perfect fit to develop our customer relations in the area."

Along with Mr Sun, Shipco Xiamen has assembled an experienced team of customer service representatives capable of handling a full range of ocean freight services.

"Being as close as we are to a large deepwater port well connected to mainland China puts Shipco Xiamen in a unique position," said Mr Lee. "We are able to offer a diverse, neutral, service portfolio to major ports in the US, UK and intra-Asia."

Shipco offers direct consolidation services from Xiamen to Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Seattle, Felixstowe, Singapore and Hong Kong. "We look forwards to rapid growth of our direct services in and out of the area," Mr Lee said.

This development comes as Shipco has aggressively been growing its intra-Asia services on the back of increasing demand from customers both in the region and overseas. With the latest addition of Shipco Xiamen the company said it is able to further expand its coverage in Asia and provide customers with enhanced service.
