Hyundai Heavy Industries' cumulative new order in the first eight months of 2012 amounts $11.47bn, plummeted by 43.5% year-on-year, according to its regulatory filing on September 17.

Shipbuilding division contracted $4.361bn, down by 51.5% year-on-year, while Offshore & Engineering division saw its new order precipitated by 61.2% to $1.281bn.

Industrial Plant & Engineering and Engine & Machinery divisions saw decreases by 41.9% and 45% to $542m and $1.471bn, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Korean shipbuilder revealed its turnover, on stand-alone basis, for August declined by 3.64% year-on-year to KRW 1.9127trn. Cumulative revenue from January to August stood at KRW 16.0898trn, down by 0.85%.
