Ninth China International Logistics Week makes big deals in Wuhan

THE 9th China International Logistics Week (CILW) is being held in Wuhan International Expo Centre, from November 27 - 29 where the deals done are expected to amount to CNY10 billion (US$1.61 billion) if the past is anything to go by.
Themed "Modern logistics promotes urban development", with 16 core activities, the 9th CILW made the largest, drew nearly 500 famous enterprises such as Sinotrans, UPS and FedEx, along with 20 famous experts and scholars including president of the International Logistics Association.
The event also involved an exhibition area of 32,000 square metre, marking the largest, highest level even of its kind in terms of the exhibition space deployed, investment scale and the number of participants.
To strengthen cooperation and further exchanges in urban logistics, the China Logistics Urban Alliance was formed and sponsored the Wuhan Declaration at the opening session of "Global Logistics Forum 2012-Mayors Forum".
Wuhan Deputy Mayor Liyong Liu said the municipal government will accelerate the development of the city into a national metropolitan commercial logistics hub by taking the every opportunity to build land, air and water transport services.
The CILW has successfully been held in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou since 2003, proving to be an important platform for logistics industry's exchange and cooperation in China and even abroad.
