CHONGQING loaded 33,274 outbound railcars, exporting 1.9 million tonnes of freight in November, an 11.8 per cent year-on-year increase.
From January to November, Chongqing's outbound rail freight increased 6.65 per cent year on year to 20.45 million tonnes, 7.6 percentage points more than the national average.
Container cargo amounted to 774,000 tonnes, remaining at the same level as in 2011. Coal volumes were up 13.5 per cent to 10.53 million tonnes. Steel was up 3.6 per cent to 2.47 million tonnes while fertiliser volume grew 10.9 per cent to 2.47 million tonnes.
Chongqing's inbound rail freight slipped one per cent to 36.3 million tonnes. Container volume grew 2.9 per cent to 3.44 million tonnes. Coal posted a decline of 18.1 per cent to 9.82 million tonnes. Steel went 0.3 per cent up to 7.75 million tonnes. Petroleum increased 20.2 per cent to 1.6 million tonnes.
