Data released by the port noted that on December 3rd 2012 the port recorded the unloading of 1,263,553 20-foot-equivalent units, exceeding the count for the previous record 1,263,552 , 20-foot-equivalent units for the full year 2010, Port2Port reports.
The Port of Haifa expect an all time record of over 1.3 20-foot-equivalent units to be unloaded until the end of 2012.
The new record was reached during the unloading of "Zim USA" a TEU 3,822 container ship registered in Liberia.
