The Port of Tianjin posted a year-on-year 9.1 per cent increase in container volume in the first four months of the year to 4.15 million TEU.
In the same period, the port's overall tonnage grew 7.8 per cent to 160 million tonnes.
This year, the port is aiming to raise its throughput to 13.5 million TEU in terms of container and 525 million TEU in terms tonnage.
