TAIWAN's Yang Ming is to add a Far East-West India loop in a slot-share on the China-India Express 2 (CIX 2/CISC/SWACO 8) jointly operated by Evergreen, Simatech, K Line and Hapag-Lloyd and to be called CIX.
It will provide six vessels from September 15 with a rotation of: Xingang, Qingdao, Laem Chabang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Mumbai-Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas and back to Xingang.
The CIX service will fill the gap left by the absence of STX Pan Ocean's 4,380-TEU STX Pagasitikos, after the company went into receivership leaving the slot free.
The Taiwan carrier now covers three trade routes covered by the China Pakistan India Express (CPX) operated jointly with OOCL. It focuses on Mundra in the central China-India service, offered through slots taken by RCL, X-Press Feeders, Hamburg Sud and OOCL serving Nhava Sheva and Pipavav.
