China's Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) signed a newbuilding contract for one (1) jack-up drilling platform with KS Drilling of Singapore on August 24.

The Friede & Goldman "Super M2" unit will be deployed to a water depth of up to 300 feet with a drilling capacity of up to 30,000 feet.

The contract price is said to be around $165.5m with delivery scheduled in 2014.

KS Drilling is said to be planning to install the newbuilding drilling rig offshore Indonesia, in cooperation with PT Pertamina.
