Malaysian offshore vessel player EA Technique posted lower earnings in the third quarter, falling 41% to MYR4.8m ($1.4m) from MYR8.7m previously on soaring cost of services, which jumped to MYR21.1m from MYR14.8m, local reports said.
Revenue however rose 11.3% to MYR37.8m compared with MYR35.0m a year ago.
For the nine months ended 30 September 2014, earnings slumped 79.6% to MYR10.9m from MYR53.6m in the previous corresponding period although this included an extraordinary gain from the disposal of an associate company amounting to MYR37.5m.
Nine-month revenue rose 29.4% to MYR113.5m from MYR87.7m due to the increase in revenue from marine transportation and offshore operations as well as port marine services operations.
