THE shipping division of Del Monte, Network Shipping Ltd (NWS), is chartering space to CMA CGM for trade between Costa Rica, Guatemala, and the US west coast, reports Fresh Fruit {非本站网址}, Santiago, Chile
The agreement will involve a weekly reefer service from Ecuador to Guatemala and Costa Rica to the US West Coast at the ports of Hueneme, Bolivar, Caldera, and Quetzal
Under the agreement, CMA CGM will get a set allocation of 50 TEU with an average of 14 tonnes per TEU, including 25 refrigeration connections for each round-trip vessel.
The shipping line will also have access to an extra allocation of 26 TEU depending on usage, including 13 reefer containers.
Until now, CMA CGM has been covering the route through spaces provided by Sealand Americas and Hamburg Sud.
The request was submitted to the United States Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).
