DREWRY's composite World Container Index (WCI) decreased 0.2 per cent to US$7,050.94 per FEU while the WCI dropped 20 per cent year on year, reports Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide.
However, rates on Los Angeles to Shanghai gained three per cent or $42 to $1,280 per FEU. Similarly, rates on New York to Rotterdam surged four per cent or $45 to $1,239.
Drewry expects the index to decrease in the next few weeks.
