CHINA'S DIESEL IMPORTS SET TO SURGE IN MARCH

Author: Posttime:2008-04-01 09:11:10
China will more than double diesel imports to 0.45Mt, or 109k b/d, in March following a lull in February, to meet peak farming demand and build inventories ahead of the summer Olympics, reports Reuters. Imports dipped in Feb when a severe winter caused transportation demand to fall amid factory closures for the Lunar New Year. Diesel usage in the agriculture sector rises as China enters the ploughing season from the 2H March-April, and domestic refineries are keeping crude runs at near recent high levels, to ensure sufficient supply.
