SOUTH China's Shenzhen city will soon start construction on an expressway from east Shenzhen to east Hong Kong soon, reports Xinhua.

The project is the 63rd key programme listed in the Pearl River Delta Reform and Development Outline approved by the State Council. It will play an important role in Hong Kong's transportation linkage to South China.

The 31-kilometre and six-lane expressway will start from Shenzhen Liantang Water Plant and link to east Hong Kong's highways through Liantang Exit and Entry Port and connect to Shenzhen-Shantou expressway and Huizhou-Yantain expressway after going by Shenzhen's Louhu and Longgang Districts.
