Xiamen customs half year trade value surges 48pc

DURING the first half of this year, Xiamen customs recorded a trade value of US$39.3 billion, a strong increase of 48.1 per cent compared to the same period a year ago, Xinhua reported.

Export cargo valued $24.2 billion, up 36.3 per cent year on year. Import value jumped 72.1 per cent to $15.1 billion.

In June, the customs recorded a monthly trade value of $7.4 billion, up 39.9 per cent year on year and 8.6 per cent over May.

In this month, import value increased 43.4 per cent year on year and 9.1 per cent month on month to $2.8 billion. Export value went up 3.8 per cent year on year and 8.3 per cent over May to $4.6 billion.
