According to customs statistics, the ship export of Guangdong Province, China reached 94,000 units from January to September.

The amount dived by 46.8% against that of last year but the value hit $2.43bn which was increased by 92.4%.

The state-owned companies dominated the statistics, taking $$1.27bn. It was increased by 110%. The foreign invested companies occupied $900m, rising by 57.7%.

Most ships were exported to Hong Kong and ASEAN. The ship export to Hong Kong reached $1.71bn while ASEAN took $570m, rising by 170% and 94.2% sharply.

In spite of value rising, the export amount was obviously decreased. Considering unstable recovery and CNY revaluation, it was not optimistic.

The shipbuilding industry was characterized with long period. During recession, the demands dived rapidly. Although some shipowners wanted to order new ships, they mired in finance drought.

In recent years, CNY revaluation exceeded 4%. The export orders were usually signed by USD settlement. The expansion of CNY revaluation meant a severe blow to shipyards.

In addition, China was still so weak in hi-tech and design. The huge profits were actually taken by foreign companies. The giant was big but not strong enough.
