Feb.15--Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that his country is determined to triple the value of annual trade ties with Turkey, the local satellite Press TV reported.

"We are determined to immediately increase the value of our annual trade ties with Turkey to 30 billion U.S. dollars through the expansion of all-out cooperation," the Iranian president was quoted as saying.

The two-way trade between Iran and Turkey surpassed 10 billion dollars last year and the two countries have the capabilities to upgrade their trade volume to 30 billion dollars, he added.

"Iran and Turkey enjoy deep, brotherly and enduring relations," Ahmadinejad said, adding the two countries have been bolstering ties in different fields during recent years.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrived in Iran on Sunday for an official visit.

Gul met his Iranian counterpart on Monday and is scheduled to meet with other Iranian high-ranking officials to discuss bilateral relations and also to travel to the Iranian cities of Isfahan and Tabriz.

The Turkish president heads a delegation including 135 officials and more than 100 businessmen in his four-day visit.
