China Post sets up e-business base for online trading in Chongqing

CHINA Post has signed a cooperation agreement with Chongqing government on developing online trading, third-party payment system, professional training and logistics services, Xinhua reports.
According to the agreement, China Post will transfer its online international trading business to Chongqing and found a clearing and settlement company at the city. In addition, China Post will also build a bonded logistics centre in Chongqing as the distribution hub of the imports and exports from its online shopping business, which will in return raise the city's e-commerce business volume to over US$10 billion in three to five years' time.
Mayor of Chongqing Huang Qifan said the city is seeking breakthrough in the field of international e-commerce and the cooperation with China Post will have mutual benefit for the expansion of their e-business and logistics services.
