Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding wins two post-panamaxes from a US shipowner.

New York-based Foremost Maritime has ordered two 87,000-dwt post-panamax bulkers from Hudong-Zhonghua in Shanghai.

Well-placed sources say the order was made earlier this year but it has just come to light.

The state-owned yard is expected to deliver the vessels in 2013.

Some market players suggest they will cost $37.5m each, which is what the Chinese builder was reported to have charged Singapore-based Pacsari for two similar ships in April.

Pacsari, the shipping arm of Indonesian food manufacturer Indofood Sukses Makmur, is due to take delivery of its vessels during the fourth quarter of 2013.
