AS of November 9, Guangxi's port of Beihai has handled 14.04 million tonnes of cargo this year, 21.9 per cent more than in the same period in 2010, surpassing last year's annual throughput total, Xinhua reports.
From January to October, port of Beihai lifted 59,048 TEU of containers, increasing 12.6 per cent over the same period last year. Throughput tonnage climbed 31.7 per cent to 13.59 million tonnes.
In October, Beihai's Tieshan port area recorded a sharp year-on-year increase of 362 per cent in its throughput tonnage to 1.01 million tonnes.
