Shipbuilders in Nantong, China, made a new record of delivery in 2011.

Nantong's state governmental statistics show that newbuilding delivery, within the jurisdiction of Nantong, increased to 167 vessels and 8.8m dwt, up by 25.6% and 13.8% in terms of vessel number and deadweight, respectively.

Shipbuilding industry in Nantong is going through a rapid development and growth, mainly by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS) and Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries.
