Chinese gas supplier Shenzhen Gas has signed a contract with Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding for one firm and one option LNG newbuildings.

The 79,960 cu m vessel is the largest river-sea combined type of LNG carrier developed by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, which will be in 239 meters length and 36.6 metres width.
Zhang Xiaodong, president of Shenzhen Gas said that the construction of new LNG carriers could help the company to ensure LNG supply and storage.

It is the first time that a Chinese gas company has independently ordered new LNG carriers.
