World Shipping(China) Summit 2010 Successfully Closed

On November 10th, World Shipping (China) Summit 2010 held its concluding ceremony.

Mr. Peter Tirschwell, Senior Vice President for Strategy for The Journal of Commerce/UBM Global Trade, chaired the ceremony and summarized the summit. Captain Wei Jiafu, President & CEO of COSCO Group, on behalf of the organizers, presented the "World Shipping (China) Summit Commemorative Cup" to Guangzhou Municipal Government. Mr. Lv. Zhiyi, Vice Secretary-General of Guangzhou Municipal Government, on behalf of the government accepted the cup. Both of them addressed during the ceremony.

Capt. Wei expressed his appreciations to supports from Guangzhou, which enabled delegates to enjoy the unique attractiveness of the local business and culture environment. Capt. Wei also improvised a celebrating poem:

Joining the Pearl River Cruise tour, we were amazed by her charms at night.

Illuminated by passion of talents, the city shines with brilliant light.

While we worship Guangzhou as our nation's third largest city of economic scale,

From the city of flower, a gathering of shipping elites designed us a dream course to sail.

Mr. Lv Zhiyi congratulated the success of the summit and appreciated the presence of all delegates. Mr. Lv noted the summit brought new thoughts and energy to the historic city of Guangzhou.

More than 1000 delegates from 33 countries attended the summit and 42 speakers delivered speeches or joined panel discussions in the formal 6 sessions.

So far the summit successfully concluded in Guangzhou.
