Lianyungang Port, a major port in Jiangsu Province, saw its cargo throughput reach 15.19 million tonnes in August, up 37.5 percent year-on-year while container throughput reached 433,000 TEUs, up 33.8 percent, reported China Business Newswire.

In the first eight months the port's cargo throughput reached 111.74 million tonnes, while its container throughput reached 3.22 million TEUs, up 24.6 percent and 25.6 percent respectively.
