The Swedish-headquartered logistics specialist Greencarrier, which has in recent years expanded substantially within the Nordic countries and the Baltic states, is continuing with its programme to create a network of offices in China.
Greencarrier already had over 30 staff in offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen. It is now opening two more offices, one in Ningbo and the other in Xiamen.
Next on the agenda says Niklas Olsson, CCO of Greencarrier International, will be an office in Northern China:
"We are looking at Dalian, Qingdao and Tianjin and have set a target date of early 2012, although it may happen before that.
”As we do in our southern offices, we will offer a complete range of logistics products including Sea/Air services, 3PL and distribution centre solutions for garments. For us, these sectors have become our specialities since there is considerable demand for companies with the skill to be able to manage these more complex activities.”
 
Ningbo
The Greencarrier office in Ningbo opened for business on September 1st and is a branch office to Greencarrier Shanghai Limited. Initially there are three people working in the office under the supervision of its General Manager, Heather Yang:  Edith Wang who is the Operations Manager, her operations assistant Bailey Mao, and Lena Huang, who is the financial accountant.
Peggy Pan, who is based in Shanghai, will support the Ningbo operations team as Regional Operations Manager. A dedicated sales team is now being recruited but meanwhile the Shanghai sales team will cover requirements in Ningbo.

Xiamen
Following Greencarrier’s launch in Ningbo, the Swedish company will open a fifth Chinese office, this time in Xiamen.
Due to open on October 1st, the Xiamen office will initially have two staff members, Jessica Xing and Ken Chen, who will be located at the office in Xiamen. The office will be managed by Carman Yeung, who is the General Manager for Greencarrier in South China, which has offices in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. 
Announcing this new office, Niklas Olsson said:
“Being in Xiamen will enable us to offer a better service to our customers in South China. It means too that Greencarrier Asia can be closer to our customers in this particular region. Greencarrier Xiamen will handle all ocean freight shipments, import and export, in both Xiamen and Fuzhou.” 
Earlier this year, Greencarrier acquired the UK logistics company PTS UK, which focuses on road traffic to and from Scandinavia. It also offers a variety of added-value services including facilities for sorting, order picking, re-marking, shrink wrapping and labelling of goods.
