SOUTHEAST China's Guangxi Autonomous Region is strengthening its traffic network connecting ASEAN countries and plans to build up expressways covering all major Vietnamese border checkpoints by 2015, Xinhua reports.
In 2010, Guangxi met its target of expanding road network to cover all Sino-Vietnamese border checkpoints. The region is now speed up the construction of four expressway projects, including from Fangcheng to Dongxing, from Baise to Jingxi, from Jingxi to Longbang and from Chongzuo to Shuikou.
At the meantime, Guangxi is also urging Vietnam to build expressways from Hanoi and Halong to border checkpoints of Youyiguan and Mong Cai, connecting expressway network inside Guangxi, to laid infrastructure foundation for the development of the Nanning-Hanoi Economy Corridor.
