Hyundai Heavy Industries is said to be in talks for newbuilding Moss-type LNG carrier with unnamed Russian owner.

Amid increasing demand for liquefied natural gas caused by plummeting oil prices and hazardous nuclear power generation, Russian owner made a newbuilding inquiry for building moss LNG carrier at the Korean shipyard.

Most of owners tend to order membrane-type LNG which is easier to build large sizes and more economically feasible, however, moss type sails safer in Arctic region, explain market players.
